I GOT 99 PROBLEMS BUT PATCHY BEARD AIN’T ONE

So you decided to let your hair grow and to find out that your beard is patchy? Don’t worry, that’s no reason to go beardless! We agree that some men are luckier than others and they can grow full beards in no time, but some men can find the process to be slightly more challenging. We’re here to tell you that just because your facial hair is patchier than other’s, it doesn’t mean there aren’t things you can do to make it look fuller, denser and better.

Be Patient

If you have a patchy beard, the main thing you need to know is that time is your best friend. If you were growing your facial hair for a month and it’s still patchy, don’t rush to shave it off just yet. There’s still hope for your precious mane to flourish! You just need to be patient.

If you can let it grow for 4-5 months, you’ll notice that your beard starts to look fuller and more dense. It’s likely that, as the beard grows longer, the patches will get covered up underneath the rest of your beard. You can even use the longer hairs to cover up the sparser areas by combing and styling it into place.

Stop Criticising

Keep in mind that you are your own worst critic. Whether we’re styling our beard or hair, checking our faces or trimming our facial hair, we spend a fair amount of time looking into the mirror. However, not everyone else is spending that much time examining your face in detail. Most of the time the things we tend to notice and obsess over are things that no one else even picks up on. So appreciate your mane the way it is and start enjoying your beard growth journey!

Keep It Moisturised

To keep your beard looking and feeling great, you don’t only need to let it grow, but take a good care of it as well.

To start with, you will need to keep your beard clean. We strongly recommend using beard wash or soap. Unlike regular shampoo’s, these products are specifically designed to wash and condition beard follicles, leaving your facial hair soft and clean.

The product that your beard will absolutely not be able to go without is beard oil. It will stop any itch and irritation, while moisturising your beard and the skin underneath. It will condition your hair and promote hair growth at the same time.

Last but not least, you’ll need to finish off your daily grooming routine by brushing your beard. It will keep your mane tidy, train your hair to grow in the right direction and condition it even more. Natural boar hair will reach hairs at every level of your beard giving you a very effective and even brush per stroke.

Style It Accordingly

There are a few things that you can do to make your beard look better. We highly recommend keeping your facial hair relatively short. It will give the illusion of slightly fuller and more dense hair coverage. Remember, a short beard can look just as great as a long one – it will still frame your face and give it some definition. Patchy beard celebrities like Johnny Depp, James Franco, and even Keanu Reeves are all great sources of inspiration for those guys with patchy beards who still want to rock facial hair.

Second, trimming certain areas of your beard can make others look fuller. We recommend keeping the sides shorter. If your beard is patchy further up, bring the line down the cheek. Sharp edges can create an impression of fullness.

So there you have it, a full guide to patchy beard. Now go and rock that mane of yours!
